Moki came to us on October 17, 2004 from the Colorado Humane Society. He is almost 4 yrs old and a beautiful boy. He had heart surgery when he was a pup, but is perfectly healthy now. He is neutered, up to date on his shots, heartworm negative and been wormed. He is also microchipped

He knows “sit”, “down”, “come”, and “shake” for shake his paw. He loves to play with the tennis ball. When you throw it he will bring it back and crouch down, not taking his eyes off you, until you throw it. He will drop it in his water when he takes a drink to make sure no other dog gets it. He also will drop it next to where he is grazing, also, so no other dog will get it.

He is very interested in cats and will probably chase them, if given a chance. I am sure he can be desensitized towards cats with some training. It doesn’t look like Moki has any separation anxiety issues.

He pulls on the leash and is very strong, he will take YOU for a walk. This also can be corrected with training. I strongly suggest that he go through obedience training. He needs to know for sure that his new owner is the “pack leader”.

Jessica met Moki and fell in love with him. She has her own business and it is located only a couple of blocks away from her home. She lost her dog Chelsea, whom she had for 15 years, in 2002. Jessica felt it was time to get another companion to share her love with.

Jessica took Moki for a weekend trial visit. That was all she needed. They are a couple. Of course Moki will be getting spoiled, she already lets him sleep in bed with her - Rita
 

Henry – January 2005 Update

Henry is doing extremely well. He has adjusted quickly to his new life. By day he is a shop dog - perched in a green velvet chair just as you enter the store - he figured out fast that commandeering this spot resulted in the maximization of petting and attention he could get!

Customers LOVE him, and their kids even more. He is great with children. I spend a fair amount of time talking about the breed, etc., because many people are unfamiliar with the Vizsla.

As to our home life, we go to the park down the street at least twice a day, where we play ball endlessly. If I don't have one with me, Henry just stares at me in disbelief that we could be at the park without the ball. We go running on the bike path - he is great runner and has gotten much better about heeling.

At some point, most likely in the spring, I plan to do some training with him. He has eaten a couple gym socks, I am much more careful now about leaving ANYTHING around) and sometimes he is not the best listener. He sleeps in bed with me, and is very protective. If he hears someone at the door, ROAR!!!!

I just could not be happier. He is an incredible companion. Admittedly, he is spoiled rotten, but really, is there any other way?? Happy New Year~! Jessica
