Maddie came back into rescue because her previous owner did not have the time to devote to her and she let him know by becoming destructive.

Maddie did find her new home where she would get more attention and exercise. Here is her story as told by her new mom Heather: Maddie has adjusted well and is quite a funny little member of the family. She and Tonka (our American bulldog) are great friends and, as much as they play together, I think she’ll help him to trim down a little. Although she’s getting daily obedience training within our family, we are looking into enrolling our oldest daughter in a training class with her. She already responds to sit, stay, crash (lay down), come, fetch, leave-it, load, unload, inside, outside, off and crate. She’s a smart girl. She’s also getting me back into running or rather jogging. I jog and she runs circles around me for a good, solid 20 minutes. Our open fields are perfect for her needs!

We’ve discovered that we no longer need an alarm clock with Maddie (note spelling change as in Maddison) on the job. We only wish she had a snooze button we could push for Saturday mornings! She has become “Princess Maddie” who loves to be doted on by the girls and she and Tonka are truly ‘Beauty and the Beast’. He is so careful with her, it’s amazing! She makes us laugh daily with her silly antics…we had no idea how funny this breed could be. She also gets us out and about daily for a good dose of fresh air. She has been and continues to be really good for our family.
