Lucy was very shy, had allergy problems that needed to be addressed, and was slightly overweight. She bonded quickly with her foster family and with some minor diet changes and allergy medicines, her allergies were brought under control. Lucy progressed very quickly in the foster home, and consequently, was adopted by a family in Denver on March 11, 2001, only two weeks after entering the rescue program.

Lucy's new parents had a Vizsla for 14 wonderful years before she succumbed to cancer. They said they thought they could never replace Coco. But thanks to Lucy the void left when Coco passed over the rainbow bridge has begun to fill up. Lucy is doing very well with her new family! She has bonded with the two young children (and like all Vizslas has claimed their bed as hers). She takes her turn sleeping with their two children, who love her lots. She has proved to be a loving, caring dog. And boy does she love to lick! She has already run her first road race with her new owner and is on the road to being a very fit Vizsla. Lucy is truly a rescue success story.
