Rescued: 7/7/2001 - Adopted:7/22/2001

Juice came into rescue July 7, 2001. She is a petite little girl, barely 38#. She came with her little suitcase full of tricks she has been taught and her favorite toys. She, as most rescues are, was very cautious of her new surroundings. She quickly let us know which toy was her favorite, the bright yellow tennis ball. She was eager to show us the tricks that her former owners taught her. She can sit, shake hands, speak, and hold a cookie on her nose and flip it in the air and catch it on command. She is obedient and very sweet. I wish mine were as well behaved as she is.

She had been an only dog in a family with a 5 year old boy and a 12 year old girl. She was jealous of the father's attention to the little boy and bit him when he tried to take a large rawhide bone from her mouth. The bite was minor, but drew blood. The parents felt that they couldn't trust her with the boy, and she was released into rescue.

Juice was adopted by a young couple in Denver, Dan and Beth. They have a rescued Saint Bernard who will be Juice's new buddy. They also have no children, so that should not be a problem. They will be taking her on hikes and bike riding. She will be getting a lot of TLC, exercise, and a lot of love.
