Hello Everyone! Let me introduce myself. My name is JD and I'm a 1 yr old very handsome boy! I was picked up as a stray and ended up in a shelter. Vizsla rescue found me and called my foster mom to come and pick me up. When I first saw my foster mom I was very scared and glued myself to the floor. Once she brought me home, I got to meet 3 very cute kids (6, 4, & 3) a cat and another Vizsla named Sedona. It's taken me a few days to figure out my tail could still wag, but once I did, I haven't turn it off! I especially love when the kids take me outside into the yard, lay on the ground, and let me give them kisses. Then they get up, run off and I chase them trying to make sure all my legs go in the same direction. My nickname is lover boy, since I love to be petted and give little kisses.

I know my name when I am called. I'm still learning that I need to come when I am called. I also have good manners in the house. Most importantly, I'm HOUSE BROKEN. I like my crate, I don’t beg at dinner, I sit and lay down. I am also learning how to walk nicely on leash. I get along very well with Sedona and the house cat. I do need lots of chew toys to keep busy with and love all the time I can get out in a yard playing with someone. I am very patient and tolerant with kids. I have passed every test they have put me through with flying colors!

On my first day at my foster mom's house, I had a full spa day. I had my toenails trimmed, ears cleaned and a bath. I didn't mind the toenail trimming and ear cleaning a bit. I wasn't sure about the bath though but with a little more practice I will be a pro at standing still for a shampoo and rinse. Foster mom gave me a gold star for being so good!

I'm now neutered, up to date on all my vaccinations, microchipped, heartworm negative, and had a dose of Revolution which will cover me for fleas, ticks and heartworms. I have a lot of love to give and would love to play with your children and go running with you. So come on and adopt me!! Sincerely, JD

Update from Rosco’s new family - We finally settled on a name for JD, he's registered with the county as Rosco. He has gradually warmed up all week (seems like we have had him for longer.) He has met most of his extended family (human and canine.) He has especially enjoyed our son's Staffordshire Terrier and our daughter's Lab.

We have taken him to a couple of dog parks in Estes Park and Ft. Collins, he loves to run. We have a lake near our house, but so far he's only put his paw in the water.

A weird thing happens when we try to get him to chase a stick or Frisbee; he runs inside and climbs up on his favorite couch. He must have had a bad experience of some sort when he was a pup.

During the week Kathy has been home with him during the day and he has really bonded to her and isn't sure about me when I get home. Warms up though and always sleeps on the floor next to my side of the bed. After spending most of the day today running around with me he's sleeping at my feet as I type this.

We are truly enjoying him even though he chewed up the TV remote last night when we went out shopping. Plan to start an obedience class soon. Thanks again - Jim
