Jackson, an 8 year old male, was turned over to the Colorado Vizsla Rescue group on October 27, 2003 by a family in Colorado. Jackson had been a part of the family since he was a puppy. But with the family’s growing size and increasingly busy schedule, they knew he would be happier with a family that could spend more time with him and one that didn’t have little ones pulling his tail and ears.

Jackson is a very sensitive dog and has a number of ‘quirks’, but is as sweet and gentle as they come. His happy and mellow personality won over his foster family and he now has a permanent home with them! His new family is working on some of Jackson’s quirks and fears: teaching him not to be afraid of hardwood floors; showing him that loud noises and sudden movements are nothing to worry about; and teaching him how to use the pet door.

Jackson’s new vizsla sisters love their new brother. They even share the couch with him (but not the humans!). Jackson enjoys wrestling with his sisters (and letting them win!). He also enjoys walks on his new property and long afternoon naps on the couch. Jackson has acquired a taste for popcorn and has learned from his sisters how to get as many kernels as possible from his new family (including just diving straight into the bowl!).

Jackson’s new family feels lucky to have adopted a dog like Jackson. He has been a welcome addition to the family. Kara & Tim
