Happy, a 14 month old female Vizsla, was owner-surrendered by a family that had essentially rescued her. The husband was being deployed to Iraq and the wife found employment and was going to school. They felt that they could not give Happy the attention she needed.

Happy is just what her name implies, a very happy Vizsla. She is extremely smart. She knows a lot of commands and tricks and was housebroken and crate trained. A real pleasure to foster and it was sad giving her up. But, her new family loves her very much as related below:

Lauren - My husband and daughter renamed Sadie Sue, Happy. It's not the most elegant name, but it suits her and my daughter can pronounce it. They are best friends. Happy is so gentle with her and comes running any time Brady calls her. They will sit next to each other on the sofa (always supervised, of course!) and Brady will nicely pet her on the neck and back. Sometimes they get each other into trouble, like when Brady feeds Happy her crackers and then Happy follows her around the rest of the day! She is so affectionate and sweet natured, we have all fallen in love with her.

Happy's energy has really rubbed off on our little terrier, Holly. Holly is sleeping a lot less and playing a lot more, which is great for an eleven-year-old. Holly has a lot more energy and actually plays now. It's great to see the old girl spunky again. Sure, there are times when I just want Happy to sit still, but she's just so excited to be with us that we can't be mad at her! Somehow she knows the difference between her toys and the baby's toys and she loves the dog park and she's the most affectionate dog I've ever had.

We all go to the dog park a lot and Happy can run off a lot of her steam in the back yard. And she plays great with my parent's dogs, my brother-in-law's dog and my father-in-law's dog. It's like a great huge dog pack every time we go anywhere!

You were right, though, about a Vizsla's energy! Sometimes she makes the house feel very small! Still, we love her very much. So thank you so much for letting her join our family! We just wouldn't be the same without her now! - Lauren
