Greta was turned in as a stray to the
Colorado Springs animal shelter. No one came to claim her. Shes a tall girl
about 10 months old., and 50lbs with a small white star on her chest, a real
pretty gal! She had a growth on one of her paws that was removed when she
was spayed. She was a bit neurotic about biting at her bandaging and kept
her foster family very busy watching over her. She gets along great with
other dogs, she is full of energy and loves to run and play. She also loves
to wrestle, but can be a bit rough for submissive/shy dogs. She is very
interested in birds and prairie dogs and cant be trusted off-leash. She is
a quick learner, knows how to sit and is working on down and off. She
likes to jump on people/dogs/counters/couches/coffee tables/you name it, she
gained the nickname Goofy Greta, but with training will learn whats
appropriate, after all she is just a puppy. She loves to snuggle and is a
real sweetheart. On
September 12, 2002, Greta was adopted by a wonderful couple in Boulder, CO.
They had been looking for a vizsla for quite some time. They are very
athletic and excited to have a new running partner ("Hold on, Greta will
give you a run for your money" ; -) Greta not only gained a wonderful mom
and dad, but also an older brother Marley (a Gordon Setter.) Marley and
Greta quickly became inseparable, running and wrestling. While Marley wasnt
too happy at first to share chew toys with Greta, hes starting to enjoy
having a permanent playmate (even if she can be a pesky little sister at
times.) Greta and her new family will soon be moving to a newly built house
in Aspen (full of doggie doors and a nice fenced yard) where Greta will be
living the life of doggie dreams!
