Gordon fka Steve is a 3 ½ yr old purebred Vizsla who was owner surrendered.
His family had taken him from a friend and after 6 months found it just
wasnt working for their life style. They had an in home business, young
children who had sometimes up to 12 friends in the house at one time. Gordon
fka Steve was totally overwhelmed and confused. And, as you can see by the
story that follows, he is a much happier dog and a much calmer lifestyle.
Tammie & Marty - I wanted to let you know that at the vet visit today,
Gordon weighed 63 lbs. The vet thought for his build and breed about 70 lb
would be okay. He wants us to keep him on his current diet. His birthday is
January 20, 2004. Ginger's is 10/15/03. They are very close in age. The vet
liked the pumpkin/dry food diet for him, and carrots for treats. He gave him
a clean bill of health.
I thought you might like to know. We did purchase the seat belt holsters for
both dogs. Now, they ride safely. God bless you both (You & Your Wife) for
being such great fosters for Vs.
Thank you first of all, for all of your wonderful advice. Marty made a visit
with our vet on Friday, and got two "gentle leaders" from the vet. We took
Ginger and Gordon (now) for a walk the first night. Gordon is an absolute
sweetheart. He has fit in well, so far. Ginger was showing some signs of
jealousy yesterday. He kind of takes it in stride. So smart, he is already
answering to Gordon.
The kids have been great, and we have been taking the dogs to the dog park
daily. Take care and Happy Father's Day!! Tammie, Marty, Drew, Mia, Daniel,
Ginger and Gordon.
