Doc Henry was
named after Doc Holiday, but why we aren't sure. He responds fairly well to
his name unless there's something which has his attention. He's a small 1+
yr old, male, purebred Vizsla, full of energy and ready to play at any
second. He has a fetish for chasing a ball. In fact he would rather play
chase the ball than to eat. He will run after a ball and bring it back and
drop it at the feet of the person doing the throwing. He will do the same
for a Frisbee. He's so intent on continually going after either the ball or
the Frisbee that I refer to him as the red lab. Any self respecting pure
blooded Vizsla says after a short period of time: "Ok! Done that! Let's do
something else." Not Doc!
Doc went to his forever home on the 4th of April. There are 3 girls in that
family of 5, ages ranging from 6 to 12. All 3 play Lacrosse. They love
nothing better than to go out in the large yard and throw the ball for Doc
with their Lacrosse sticks, and he thinks he's died and gone to Heaven with
all that ball throwing. When the girls are doing something else, there's the
dad who wanted a dog who would chase a ball till the cows came home. Doc is
more than willing to fill that role. One can only image the level of
competition as to who's going to throw the ball next when they're all out in
the yard There's also Maddie, a female V who the Burtness' adopted back in
2008. She's beside herself because she now has a buddy to run with. A good
time is being had all around. - Jerry
