Cheena fka Sunny is a 10 month old purebred Vizsla who was
surrendered with her dad and 3 sisters by her owner. They had very little
socialization and were very shy. Their previous owner was unable to sell the
pups and was overwhelmed at having so many dogs.
Cheena found her new home with Andrew & Tamara. Here is Tamara’s story at
how Cheena is adjusting to her new home: Cheena is doing great, she is very
silly. Saturday she was so busy checking out our house, she wouldn't sit
still. Finally at 7 pm I picked her up and held her in my lap and then she
settled down (on the couch of course). She is quite the snuggler. She really
is quite gentle, and loves to lean into us. She does get so wound up and
runs around like a crazy girl, and gets Tocha so frustrated because she
corners so easily and he is like a freight train that can only go straight.
She crates great in the evening, whines just a little and then goes right to
sleep for the entire night.
Sunday - we played in the yard, took her for a walk, went to the dog park
and had some friends over for the evening. She did great, but she was very
tired. Potty training is going well, it really helps to have our dogs go out
with her. She's had couple of accidents in the house, but overall we are
quite happy with how it's going.
Today we took her for a short walk before we left for work and then played
in the yard off leash so she could really run.
Gretchen, we really couldn't thank you enough for being a foster dog mom, we
think that you are special for taking the time and appreciate your effort
that is involved in fostering! - Tamara
