Bella was an owner surrender in Fruita , CO. At nine months
she was rambunctious and ill-mannered. Her family didnt have the time to
devote to her so they contacted Colorado Wyoming Vizsla Rescue. Mark and
Dani, who are the Western Slope rescue volunteers, took their own rescued V,
Redford , better known as RedFred, and picked up Bella on a Friday. The
first stop was a park where both dogs could run free and get acquainted.
RedFred generally doesnt like other dogs, but they were such a good match
that within a week Mark and Dani were asking Rita if they could adopt
Bella. She had been spayed, but was not up to date on her vet work,
including a heartworm test. A couple of visits to the vet took care of those
details, and she now has a clean bill of health. Bella, now CaBella, is
learning how to come, sit, stay, and hopefully not to chew. Shes an
enthusiastic chewer, but being vigilant about whats left within her range,
and several runs in the desert every day are helping curb that habit! She
and RedFred are still great buds, although its becoming obvious that shes
the alpha dog. Fred is looking pretty hen-pecked! CaBellas very bird
oriented, and may be going on her first pheasant hunt with Mark and RedFred
this coming November. - Dani
