Three months ago Buddy was in the Douglas
Humane Society in Douglas, WY. For eight years he had a family and a home,
until they moved away and surrendered him to the local shelter. When I met
him there he was not stable at all. There was only one person there that he
trusted and that he would let near him. He had a couple of people look at
him while he was there, but scared them away with his questionable
temperament. To say the least, he was labeled as unadoptable. To be honest I
wasn't sure what to expect when I took him home. But, in no time at all he
set my mind at ease as he became a brand new dog the moment we got to the
house. I knew then that he had a chance to be adopted and find a new family.
It took a while, but the perfect family finally found him. On October 3rd he
met his new family. Annie, Howard, and their eight year old Vizsla, Nellie
are from Minnesota and made the long drive to Rapid City where we met them
with Buddy. The meeting went well and they became his new family. Buddy is
very lucky to have a group like the CWVRG, Inc. and families like Annie &
Howard out there to take a dog in from a bad situation with an uncertain
future and give him a second chance with a very bright future. He still has
a lot of love to share.
Annie says - I just wanted to let you know that Buddy is doing really well!
We stayed at a hotel in Sioux Falls last night and when Howard was watching
the news Buddy jumped up on the bed and snuggled right next to him - resting
his head on Howard's stomach. We had a good drive back to Minnesota and
Buddy is getting to know his new digs. Right now he is lying on the couch
next to me, snuggled under a blanket. He has eaten and slept in his crate -
all with no complaints. I hope Copper and Penny are doing well and not too
confused as to where Buddy is - I'm sure it is strange for them too! ~ Annie
