Our pirate has set sail for a new adventure. Buddy is the dog for the job! Buddy was adopted not by one V-loving man, but by 3 V loving men! You read that right, 3 brothers adopted Buddy. Don adopted Mazie, for his wife, Cindy, but he really wanted Buddy, so he decided to work on his brothers and Cindy so he could get Buddy. Don decided that Buddy needed a home, he had been in rescue too long to suit this V-loving man.

All 3 brothers were raised around Vs, all 3 have owned nothing BUT Vs, and just couldn't think about owning anything but Vs. All 3 brothers drove to my house in an ice storm, just to see my one eyed pirate dog named Buddy. This trio never even noticed the missing eye, all they could see was how beautiful he was, and how lively he was. The way Ed stated it was perfect----- "He's really put together pretty" . It wasn't long before they had decided that Buddy was the perfect dog! So THEY ALL signed the adoption papers, and prepared to leave, but first there is the picture, I had a problem, Ed just would look at Buddy not the camera! You could see that Ed was smitten, you know pirates do that to some people, maybe its lure of the open sea calling their souls. I think in Ed's case, he could see in Buddy, a friend for life, and Buddy is the dog for the job!

Ed, being the oldest, has decided that Buddy will be living on the farm. He will be allowed to visit and go with the other brothers, but home will be the farm! Buddy has a new crate, his old favorite blanket from here, deer antlers for chew bones (the only thing that stands up to him, that we found), lots of pick-up rides (in the cab, can't have anything happen to him) , lots of new smells on a nice farm.

Buddy will be going hunting, just to see if hunting is something he would like. Buddy also is not real crazy about strangers, especially men, but that is just great as far as the brothers are concerned, don't need strangers coming up on the farm. So Buddy went to the perfect home, not one owner, but 3 V-loving men adopted a pirate dog named Buddy------- Captain Jack Sparrow eat your heart out, your dog is now a land lover, in more ways than one! And as for me------ another pay check from Vizsla rescue, knowing that a homeless V went to a GREAT home! - Polly

Update: Buddy will be living on the farm------ Cause big brother Ed says so! He will be able to go visit, go with the other brothers, go play with Mazie, but home is the farm! Plus Ed says if he ever catches Buddy riding anywhere but the cab of the truck, some body is going to be in BIG trouble! Buddy's crate is in Ed's bedroom, and Buddy was one tired out V last night, after Ed took him around to show him his farm, he ate like a horse, curled up on the couch with Ed and slept, while Ed watched TV. Buddy also played and wrestled with Mike, he also played with Mazie, and was out this morning doing farm chores with Ed, off lead, but stayed right by Ed's side. I don't know about you, but that tells me that Buddy picked who he was going to live with, 2 brothers lost a dog! But that's alright with me, Ed's last V was 16 years old, and died peacefully in his sleep!

Don told me that all Ed can do is smile. He walks around with a big grin on his face; they haven't seen that in years. I knew the way Ed kept looking at Bud, and the twinkle in his eyes showed me that he loved Buddy from the get go. Don said that yesterday after they arrived home, Buddy penned Mike, their nephew, up against the house, and Ed broke out laughing, we may have saved a V and a widower all in one move! You see, Buddy is cautious around strange men, but once he gets to know them, he is fine. - Polly
