Bridgette came into rescue as a result of a KS Animal Health Dept raid. She is a 1-2 yr old purebred Vizsla and was taken immediately to our vet to have all her vet work done including spay. Bridgette made the trip from KS to CO on February 23rd and was picked up by her foster family, Haven and Matt.

Bridgette has jumped into rescued life head first. Everyone is getting along quite well. Since day one Bridgette was too curious to be afraid of our wood/vinyl floors or stairs. She hasn't had an accident in the house or her crate. She is very respectfull of being on leash although she can be a bit skittish of the barking dogs we pass and passing cars when out on walks.

Bridge has fallen right in line with our pack and in some cases is showing us where we had become complacent with our dogs' level of obedience. Ex: she lies contentedly in dog approved locations while our dogs insist on repeatedly testing the "no dogs in the kitchen" rule; not that she wouldn't prefer our bed for a resting place, if she could get away with it.

We continue to work with staying off the furniture and people. She just has a hard time containing herself when Haven and/or I are playing on the bed or the floor with Evelyn (our 8 month old daughter). It looks like so much fun; she just wants to occupy the same space as one of us. So we work on snuggling on our terms. And when we are not interested: "Bridgette, No" or "Bridgette, “Off" and we lead her to where we would like her to be: "Sit", "Lie Down", "Stay". Sometimes she insists on hearing it a dozen times, but she is so smart, eager, trusting, and deserving it's impossible not to be as patient as she needs.

She is good with kids, though we are still trying to teach her to be careful with her feet & to not throw her weight around with the baby. She has not been at all fearful of people & has gotten along nicely with every dog she has met so far. When we are just spending time at home she is content to snuggle & play with the other dogs, but she does love to exercise! - Matt & Haven

Bridgette was adopted by Lauralee who lives in the Granby area, heaven on earth. Bridgette gets to live in a beautiful environment with an older Vizsla, 14 yrs old. She will get to go hiking, neighborhood walks, and swimming in the summer. She will get lots of love and attention. - Rita
