Boone
suffered a major traumatic event in his life when his mom died suddenly. A
few days later he ran away from home and was picked up by Animal Control and
taken to the shelter. Since CWVRG had agreed to take Boone and his sister
Lucy back into rescue, Rita picked Boone up from the shelter and drove him
to meet up with his foster mom in Denver who drove up from Albuquerque.
Fast-forward five and a half months…..
Pat and Jim drove down to Albuquerque from Taos to meet Boone. It’s fair to
say that it was love at first sight. Jim could not take his hands off of
Boone, and Boone turned all his charm onto both of these wonderful people.
Pat and Jim took Boone for a walk before heading home, and after a short
walk he was their dog.
The final member of Boone’s new family is Huey, a black cat. Huey had been
devoted to his former dog sibling, but he didn’t know what to make of this
gentle giant. After a few days of supervision, Huey warmed up to Boone and
they are now friends.
Pat takes Boone on long walks, and he will get to go hiking with Pat and Jim
once the weather improves. Boone is happy and well loved by his new family.
Pat says, “It's amazing how quickly Boone has adjusted to our household
routines. There are no behavioral issues at all and his sweet temperament
and sunny disposition make him a joy to have around. He might be the perfect
dog!” - Carolyn
