Ginger is a
6-8 month old purebred Vizsla who was picked up as a stray and ended up at a
shelter. She plays well by herself as well. She will get toys and play on
the floor quietly on her own. She IS still puppy. Put the shoes away!
Overall she is very calm and relaxed and attentive to the family. A nice
change to the high energy of our own Vizslas. She is also not offended if
you want to pick her up and carry her around. They all think they are still
babies! - Mel
Ginger II was adopted by a wonderful young couple. They changed her name to
Avery and here is their story: We feel so lucky to have adopted such a
wonderful dog. In the first few days after we brought her home, she was a
little timid, but very well-behaved. Mel was such a wonderful foster parent!
Avery does well with basic commands and has learned a few new ones,
including "gimmie five". Avery does well with her crate, and only needs to
be coaxed in once in awhile. You can tell she's an intelligent dog; she paws
at the back door to be let out or at her food & water bowls if they are
empty and she is hungry or thirsty. Avery also gets along well with other
dogs & is very playful and friendly. But enough about her manners…onto the
fun stuff!
Immediately upon being let into our backyard, Avery was quick to chase off
any rabbits in sight. We have noticed a decrease in the number of rabbits
willing to find their way into our backyard; hooray!
Avery is a great companion for daily jogs throughout the neighborhood and
loves going for hikes as well. So far she has climbed to the top of 2
fourteeners! People we meet on the trails or at parks comment on what a
beautiful dog she is. Kids can't stop petting her.
There is nothing like coming home from work and getting a big excited hug
from Avery. She is such a great addition to our home and we thank everyone
involved for helping us adopt her!
Thank you - John, Megan, and Avery
