Jason in Seattle, WA had been searching for a younger vizsla to rescue. He had been waiting patiently for the right match. He is a marathon runner and helped raise and train his friends’ Vizslas. Jason knew he belonged with a Vizsla. He contacted CWVRG about Sandor but we were hesitant to adopt out of state. After working with the Washington rescue group and various conversations with Jason and his friends, we knew that Sandor’s destiny resided in Seattle. Jason and his friend Christian flew out to Denver just a few short days after receiving word that we thought Jason and Sandor were a great match. Sandor jumped right into his new dad’s arms and they made the long road trip back to Seattle. When Jason has to work, Sandor will be attending doggie daycare a few times a week to continue working on his social skills and other days he will be spending with his new best Vizsla friends Calvin and Freja. From the update below we can all rest easy knowing that Sandor couldn’t be in a better place…

Jason - "It was funny - I arrived home last night and my friend Tamara had covered my front door with streamers and banners and signs declaring 'It's a boy!'...cracked me up. Off to meet his new vet tomorrow and then swinging by his doggie daycare for his 'interview'."

"I took mi amigo to meet Calvin and Freja today at an off-leash park.  Chaos, but tons of fun.  He makes Calvin and Freja look like elephants he's so small! 

"Just wanted to let you know that all is well.  Everyone loves 'young mister Fergal' as I've taken to calling him.  Christian and Brendan are in shock about how well behaved he is and keep telling me how lucky I am, (and boy do I know that)."

Hi Alyssa - time for the latest Seattle update.

First of all - its official! I've decided to call the little one Fergal. It was a nickname that just stuck right from the beginning and he responds to it very well. I've made sure to put both Sandor and Fergal on the microchip records though so there's less confusion for you guys (as you're on the record as the second contact).

Fergal started in at daycare this week. They're so great at Central Bark. As you can see on their site (http://www.central-bark.com/Babies Room.htm) they have a little 3 month old Vizsla called Bentley. Fergal got to hang out with him on his first day. Fergal was plastered spread eagle to the chain link fence with a look of terror on his face when I left him - making me feel like the worst parent in the world - and Bentley was sitting next to him calmly wondering what all the fuss was about. They gave him lots of special attention throughout the day but the poor little guy was pretty stressed until I showed up to pick him up. We came home, I got on the floor to play with him and he promptly projectile vomited everywhere - wow.

On his second day, it all seemed to change for the better. Christian and Jennifer put Calvin and Freja in with him so he would have company and he seemed very content. He apparently made good friends with an English Bulldog too. He was happy and VERY tired when I got him home.

We're starting an obedience class on Sunday with the Humane Society. Emily, the instructor is sooo good with the dogs. I've done classes with her and Calvin before. Very excited. Latest pics attached. Gotta run as I have some friends coming over for breakfast.
