Dax

April 17, 2010 – May 9, 2010

Dax was a 5-year old purebred male that was surrendered to CWVRG when his family moved. They were unable to take Dax to their new home so CWVRG gave him a home. However, Dax quickly exhibited signs of behavioral issues, as he fiercely guarded his crate. His foster family diligently worked with him to try to help him through these issues, but Dax showed little improvement. In order to give Dax every opportunity to get better, my wife and I fostered him in hopes that a change in his environment might allow him to conquer his demons. Although Dax often seemed very happy (he loved to play fetch and rolled on his back in our laps as he was being petted), his demons continued to haunt him. Despite everyone’s dedicated efforts, Dax became increasingly unstable and unpredictable. A painful decision was finally reached to help Dax end his struggle. I held Dax in my arms as he crossed the Rainbow Bridge and we buried him later that day at our home. Dax now lays alongside our other treasured pets that crossed the Rainbow Bridge before him. Although Dax was not a member of our household for very long, he managed to touch both our hearts and he will be missed. As we prepared to take Dax on his last trip, a Michael Buble song that was playing on the radio will forever remind us of Dax. - Scott

And I feel just like I’m living someone else’s life
It’s like I just stepped outside
When everything was going right
And I know just why you could not
Come along with me
But you always believed in me
Let me go home
I’ve had my run
Baby, I’m done
I gotta go home
Let me go home
It will all be all right
I’ll be home tonight
I’m coming back home
