Charlotte

April 26, 2001 - 2003

Charlotte came into the rescue system April 26, 2001. She was discovered in the Table Mountain Shelter in the foothills above Denver. A woman brought her in along with a companion and told the shelter workers that Charlotte and her friend had been abandoned at a boarding kennel in Parker, Colorado. The shelter people told us that Charlotte was around 4 years old and had all her shots. In reality Charlotte was more like 8 to 9 years old.

Charlotte was immediately picked up by one of our CWVRG volunteers. She was taken to one of our vets and it was discovered that she most likely had cancer in the mammary glands. We had a biopsy preformed and it was positive. We checked all the alternatives and decided to give Charlotte a chance and we gave the vet the go ahead to do the surgery.

Before the surgery she was kind of a cranky girl and didn't get along too well with other dogs. After the surgery and recovery she is like a new girl. She has a new lease on life. She is a happy girl and seems to enjoy life a lot better. She even is playing with the other dogs in her foster home.

July 1, 2001 - After nearly 3 months in her foster home, her foster parents, Kara & Tim, realized that Charlotte had found a home with them.

Charlotte crossed over the Rainbow Bridge in 2003 after have a wonderful happy life in her new home.
