Amber II

December 13, 2003 – March 28, 2010

Dear Friends,

I wanted to let you know that our beloved Amber made her way to the rainbow bridge on Sunday. Her back legs had been getting more and more arthritic with little muscle mass remaining and a fall while we were away pushed her limits. I had four marvelous days with her; eating roast beef, sugar cookies, sharing sandwiches and sundaes (with chocolate syrup and sprinkles of course) and McDonald’s hamburger and fries. She was by far my best friend and full time snuggle buddy. We had a very, very special bond from the moment we picked her up at the Boulder Humane Society to foster her. She overcame many obstacles over the years, but always remained sweet quiet Amber. As so eloquently put by my wise, awesome Aunt…Amber was sent ‘here to teach lessons about relearning to trust after being hurt, forgiveness, and unconditional love’. While my shadow may now be invisible to the human eye, it shines brighter than ever in my heart and soul. I told her to find a nice spot for our next picnic, but I will miss her every day until then. ~Alyssa M.
