LILLI II'S PROFILE
11/18/2009
Profile:
Hi – my name is Lilli and I need someone to love me as much as I will love
them. I am a 3 yr old, purebred Vizsla. I am loving and affectionate and want
all the attention I can get.
I’ve spent most of my 3 years in a kennel having puppies, but I am now spayed
and have learned to be a well-behaved house dog. I am housebroken (and let
myself out the doggie door), calm inside, and love to go outside for a walk. My
foster mom takes me hiking without a leash, because I will come when she calls.
Lilli - now known at our house as Silly Lilli - has come out of her shell and is
acting like a normal, energetic, mischievous 3-yr old. She sticks her nose into
everything, and loves to get into the trash. She has gotten in very good shape
from running, and has big beautiful muscles.
I had to spend last week in ABQ with my parents, so I took Lucy and purposely
left Lilli behind with only Nick, the monster. When Nick started feeding her,
she changed her mind about not liking him and now runs to greet him when he
comes home and goes up to him for attention.
I am a little mischievous at times and have gone a little punk with my hairstyle
– I have a short ridge of straight-out hair right down my forehead that is
totally distinctive. I am still a little cautious about strange places and new
situations. My wish is to have a special person who lets me put my front paws in
their lap and gives me lots of cuddles.
She is testing whether she really has to come immediately when I call, so we are
working on that. She still wants to jump up on people when she gets excited, but
knows to sit at my feet if she wants any attention.
She loves attention and will come up to you for pets before plopping down at
your feet for a nap. She seems much calmer and more comfortable than when she
first arrived. She does love to eat though, and will finish any food left by the
other dogs (which we try to pick up before she gets to it). She eats only about
half of what Lucy (Vizsla) eats in order not to gain weight. I also do not know
how she would do around children - I would avoid placing her in a home with
small children because she pushes and jostles when she gets excited.
I have been placing a treat in her crate every evening while Lilli is outside,
and she now heads there willingly when I say "bedtime". She behaves very well
for me, and for Geoff, and on our walks. She has loved romping through the snow
these past few weeks and is a bundle of energy now that she has gotten into
shape. However, I have been working on her inside behavior and she is doing
better at not running in the house or pushing into Tasha. - Pam
