2011 Annual Reunion (8th Annual)

We held our 8th Annual Reunion September 18th at the Louisville Community Park. The weather was just perfect, as it usually is for this event. This is a great place to have our reunions. There is a pond area that is gated so your dog won’t run amuck, covered picnic shelters, clean bathrooms, drinking water for the dogs, and beautiful lawn covered grounds. There is also a play area for small children.

Total signed in attendees was 49 and they all brought at least one dog and some more than that. Kudos to Alyssa Krissen and Katie Lloyd, for an excellent job well done. Katie brought Dominick, her new human addition. The dogs had a blast and it was quite a job to get them out of the ponds, they were having so much fun. There were some pretty tired red dogs by the end of the picnic. I am sure they slept very well that night.

It is hard to believe we have been having this reunion for 8 yrs. Please mark your calendars for next year’s event. It is always on the 3rd Sunday in September. I look forward to seeing you next year for our 9th Annual Reunion.

2010 Annual Reunion (7th Annual)

WOW!!! What a great reunion. Beautiful location, a lot of red dogs and their people. The food was great, fried chicken, 3 kinds of salad, beverages, and a big yummy cake. The weather was made to order. There were 2 fenced off areas for the dogs to be off leash, one of which was a swimming pond. Our red dogs thoroughly enjoyed that part of the picnic. In fact most of them spent more time there instead of at the picnic tables. Those of you who missed it this year, missed a great event.

Sorry I did not get a group picture, just couldn't get everyone together. Next year I will. I plan to post a schedule so people know when to stop play and eat lunch and then gather for a group photo.

Thank you, Alyssa Krissen, for all her hard work at organizing successful event on your first effort. Great job, Alyssa. I am looking forward to our 8th reunion next year.

Thank You Letters

Dear Colorado Wyoming Vizsla Rescue,

We are so happy to have our V, Riley Coyote, in our family and words cannot say thanks enough to all of you. We were really looking forward to the BBQ & park day with all the other red dogs, but we do understand that times are tough & look forward to hopefully attending next year’s event. We did still want to donate to the rescue even though the event was cancelled to help you guys find more amazing V’s homes to bless as Riley has done for us. Again thank you so much for blessing our lives.

Sincerely,

Paul & Ashley

3rd Annual CWVRG Rescue Reunion
2006

Our 3rd Annual CWVRG Vizsla Rescue Reunion, held on September 24, 2006, was once again greeted with beyond perfect weather!  Chatfield State Park offered a perfect fall day and leaves as red as our dogs.  We had over 55 people sign in, I am sure there were a few we missed who did not sign in.  We can’t even begin to count the sea of red dogs charging around, suffice to say that they were as far as the eye can see!  We had little baby V’s like our dear Buddy Holly & Cinnamon, and older V’s like our beloved Hannah (our logo model), and Ella…as well as every size and shape of V in between.  Even the lab brothers and sisters (who think they are Vizslas, at this point anyway) were frolicking, sniffing, swimming and playing!  We saw soooo many new Vizsla parents and it was simply heart warming to see our rescued Vs in their new loving homes.  It really makes the efforts of our volunteers worth it to see the bond these dogs have with their new moms and dads.

Overall we raised $404.00!!  We cannot thank everyone enough for their support and for coming out to Chatfield to enjoy the day with us.   A special thanks to Rita Prindle for bringing us all together and for her never ending battle to support and save the breed we adore.  Special thanks as well to Polly Mahlman, our fearless leader in Kansas.  She was unable to join us this year, but her efforts are recognized none the less. We hope to see you all again next year, and look forward to many more success stories in 2007.  Katie
